Work Experience

-       Editor-in-Chief, The Temple News. (August 2009-Present) I have worked at The Temple News, Temple University’s student-run newspaper since January 2007, as an opinion writer, a copy editor, an opinion columnist and a section editor. In my capacity as Editor-in-Chief, I manage a staff of 23 and oversee all aspects of the paper, including editorial content, design, advertising, salaries and recruiting.

-       Intern, Philadelphia Daily News. (January-May 2009) I work on my own and with other reporters covering breaking news, including crime, press conferences and court proceedings.

-       Intern, Lancaster New Era. (June 2008-Aug. 2008) I worked alone and with reporters on various hard news and feature articles, including crime, court procedures and human-interest stories.

Education

-       High School Diploma, Conestoga Valley High School. (Aug. 2002-June 2006)

-       Undergraduate Journalism Major, Temple University. Anticipated date of graduation: June 2010. (Aug. 2006-Present)

Skills

-       Extensive experience with reporting, including interviewing, writing on deadline and background research. Experience with managing a large newsroom staff and ensuring production of an award-winning weekly paper. Extensive experience with gathering and editing audio and video, including stand ups and  Final Cut Pro.  Proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Extensive knowledge of blogging and maintaining Web sites, including posting, designing and moderating.
